The Notebook

The Notebook, written by Nicholas Sparks, is a classic story of love against class.

I think that the plot and writing style, both are incredibly well thought out and realistic. The Notebook presents a realistic view of love and relationships, and not just assures that everything always works perfectly in love. Love is suppose to last forever, and there are ups and downs in a relationship. Although Allie chooses Noah, ultimately, the choice is not easy. Have Allie made the right choice by choosing love over class / wealth? Do you have to sacrifice "true love" of financial security? Or should you risk financial security for someone you really love? Of course it wouldn't be so complicated if we weren't forced to choose if the person you loved also was wealthy, or at least financially stable. But it is not always in real life.

This book, and the slow pace of the novel, shows the doubts and concerns that are realistic in this situation. Nevertheless, it is an incredible novel, and I would highly recommend it to others.
